Hummel's Office Plus was founded in 1934 by Harrison J. Hummel as Excello Typewriter. In 1940, Hummel opened for retail business as Excello Office Supply in Herkimer, NY. In this small shop, he repaired typewriters and sold typing paper, ribbons, and other typing supplies.After becoming a part of the Office Plus buying cooperative and gaining a tremendous amount of buying power, Hummel's has been able to transform from a modest storefront to an 80,000 square foot distribution center.Today Hummel's Office Plus is the largest independent office supply dealer in upstate New York. Our fleet of delivery trucks travels over 500,000 miles per year delivering much more than our original typewriters and supplies to cities from Syracuse to Oneonta, Amsterdam to Old Forge, and all points in between! With our retail locations, a team of outside sales representatives, an exceptional customer service department, and convenient online ordering, Hummel's is now able to provide a wide selection of products in office supplies, furniture, technology, janitorial and breakroom, and more! Harrison J. "Chip" Hummel III
Chairman of the Board
Harrison J. Hummel III, better known to many as “Chip” is Hummel's Office Plus Chairman of the Board. His main responsibility being major account development, finances, plus present and future company acquisitions. He also provides insight to the direction and future growth of the company including maintaining the financial strength of the corporation.
Born and raised in Herkimer, New York, he was educated in the Herkimer school system and graduated from Herkimer County Community College (HCCC) with a business degree.
He is an active member of many local boards, a few of which are Commercial Travelers, St. Elizabeth's Hospital, Human Technology Corporation, Herkimer County Community College Foundation, The Boy Scouts of America, NBT Bank - Advisory Board, and S.P. Richards Dealer Council. He is never too busy when asked to speak to various high schools, colleges, office product groups and business seminars on the future of business, business management, sales, financial, business succession planning and how to run a successful company.
Chip is also an advocate and firm believer of healthy business relationships. On many occasions a simple handshake has been sufficient to culminate a contract, a rarity in this day and age! His hard work, commitment and dedication to the company, along with, as he states, “The hundreds of employees (partners) over the years have helped him in making Hummel’s the successful and well respected company it is today.”
Chip does not have to find time for his family, He takes the time! Devoted to his wife, Judy and his children, Harrison IV, Keila, Justin, Solace and Jordan. Chip is also been blessed with eight beautiful grandchildren, Logan, Coltan, Daltan, Jackson, Lily, Matt, Michael And Kara. All of whom are the force that make it all worthwhile!
When time allows, Chip enjoys a competitive game of tennis, golf and traveling with family and friends and occasionally, a trip to Viva Las Vegas or enjoying some R And R In Bonita Springs, Florida.

Harrison J. Hummel IV
Chief Operating Officer
Harrison J. Hummel IV is the Chief Operating Officer of Hummel's. Harrison has been involved in the business from a very early age helping at the retail stores when he was barely tall enough to see over the counter.

Harrison graduated from Little Falls High School in 1994, as valedictorian. He went on to Atlanta for college and has a Bachelor’s of Science from Georgia Tech in Management with minors in Finance, Economics and Organizational Psychology. He is an avid fan of Georgia Tech athletics.

Harrison enjoys most sports, especially basketball and football. He has also spent many seasons being a coach for youth softball and CYO basketball over the years.
​
Harrison is extremely involved in the community. Harrison has served as an officer on the American Red Cross - Mohawk Valley Chapter Board of Directors, the Faxton - St. Luke's Hospital Foundation Board, and the Herkimer BOCES Dollars for Scholars Board of Trustees. He is currently serving as Vice Chair on the ARC Herkimer Board of Directors.

Additionally, Harrison was privileged to serve as the Board Chair for Independent Stationers. Headquartered in Indianapolis, Independent Stationers is the country's most progressive cooperative for office products dealers with over 300 members all over the United States and the Caribbean.
Harrison has also been recognized repeatedly for his community involvement.

In 2002, he was named a recipient of the Mohawk Valley "40 Under 40" award. In 2004, he was honored to receive the Mohawk Valley "Accent on Excellence" award. Most recently, he was awarded the Leadership Mohawk Valley "Follow the Leader" award in 2006.

Harrison grew up in the Mohawk Valley and currently lives in Ilion, NY with his wife Michele and his kids Matthew, Michael, and Kara. He is a fourth generation member of Hummel's Office Plus.

Daniel Stalteri
VP of Contract Furniture
Daniel D. Stalteri has held the position of Vice President of Contract Furniture of Hummel’s since 1999 & is the current owner of Kitchen & Interior Concepts since June of 1991 in partnership with Chip Hummel (Wood-Mode Dealership).
He was born in Herkimer, NY on July 17, 1965, graduated from Herkimer High School & attended Herkimer County Community College where he received an Associate’s degree in Applied Science (Construction Technology) & then a Bachelor’s Degree in Science (Construction Management) from Utica College of Syracuse University.
Dan is married to Marianne Lasowski-Stalteri whom he has two children with: daughters Kahley & Emily. Dan is also the proud Grandfather of 3 boys Killian, Hudson & Conan.
He has a passion for coaching high school & college women’s softball (National Championship in 2013). Dan is currently the Head Varsity Coach at New Hartford CSD, & Head Coach for the U18 Utica Lady Comets. In 2020 he partnered in a local Hitting Instructor-Batting Cage Business called Klutch Performance.
Dan is also serving his 4th term as a Herkimer Town Councilman & is currently the Deputy Town Supervisor. Some of his hobbies include boating, cigar collecting, carpentry, playing/watching sports, & supports a Keto Diet lifestyle.
His favorite teams are the New York Rangers, Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Reds, & Syracuse Orangemen. His idols are his deceased grandparents Alfred Sr. & Helen Manieri.
Justin Hummel
Chief Executive Officer
Justin Hummel succeeded his father Harrison J. "Chip" Hummel III, as CEO of Hummel's Office Plus in July 2011. Justin manages the day to day operations including sales, marketing, direction, financials and future growth of the Hummel's Office Plus business. Justin came to work full-time for Hummel’s in 2001 shortly after graduating from college. He spent his early years in Retail and Marketing at Hummel’s.
Justin serves on many boards and believes strongly in community service and giving back to its community members. Past and current boards include the Salvation Army, Ronald McDonald House, Herkimer County Chamber of Commerce and Little Falls Hospital Board of Trustees.
Justin’s driving force are his two children Jackson and Lily. He enjoys quality time outside with them and enjoys a good book to relax him. Justin also enjoys a round of golf, a family dinner and a night around a camp fire.
Justin prides himself on living his personal and professional life with integrity, honesty and trust.

Solace Hummel
Chief Administrative Officer
Soláce Hummel is the Chief Administrative Officer for Hummels Office Plus. She began working on a part-time basis in 1999 and full-time in 2004.
Soláce graduated from Little Falls High School in 2000, received an Associate Degree in Fashion Merchandising from Herkimer County Community College and a Bachelor’s Degree in Fashion Merchandising from Lasell College, Boston, Massachusetts, in May 2004, graduating Summa Cum Laude.
Her previous work experience as a Merchandise Hostess at Walt Disney World, Marketing Assistant at Lasell Village in Boston, Massachusetts along with her volunteering efforts, has shown her the value of hard work, dedication and importance of community involvement.
Soláce grew up in the Mohawk Valley and currently lives in East Herkimer, NY. She is a fourth generation member of Hummel's Office Plus. Her family includes her father Chip, Step-Mother Judy and mother Phyllis Hummel along with her brothers Harrison, Justin, Jordan, sister Keila, and beloved nieces and nephews.
Her hobbies include reading, exercising, dancing, painting, and spending time with the people who mean the most to her…family and friends.

Michael Schultz
Chief Information Officer
Michael is originally from Homer, NY & when he came to the area to attend Herkimer College he liked the area so much, he never left. He is a graduate of both Herkimer College & SUNY Poly & has been a resident of the Mohawk Valley for over 25 years.
Michael’s experience stems all the way back to grade school. He has been working with technology for over 35+ years. His experience in the use technology for business spans many industries. These include profit & non-profit, healthcare, human service, industrial, education, food service, & marketing to list a few.
His most recent position was Chief Commercial Officer for Center Information Services (CIS). CIS is a managed service organization providing technology solutions to non-profits in Central New York. In his position, he assisted organizations with utilizing technology to improve processes for conducting business. Installing technology just for the sake of installing technology does not help businesses. Installing technology that makes an organization more efficient & can improve service is the cornerstone of any technology solution.
Michael & his wife Shawn have been married for 28 years. They have three kids. The oldest Hailee is a college graduate of Robert Wesleyan College & is a music teacher. Their middle child Taryen is a nurse at St. Elizabeth’s Hospital. Their youngest child Christopher is a student at SUNY Delhi.
In his free time, Michael & his wife are big Disney fans. Everything from films, the theme parks, & everything in between. The most important thing being family time.
They also enjoy spending Sundays watching the Buffalo Bills. Finally, their favorite activity as you would expect from Disney fans is they enjoy traveling. Most of the time it is to warmer weather.
Michael enjoys bringing his unique technology experience to Hummel’s.
VP of Albany Market
Ray Seefeld
As the former owner of Superior Business Products in Schenectady, NY, Ray joins the Hummel’s Management team with over 35 years’ experience in the Office Products Industry.

Ray has been involved in the office products industry since 1985 & has an extensive education from the National Office Product Association, & the Business Products Industry Association Educational Institution, as well as a background education in Marketing Management from the State University College at Brockport.
After joining Superior in 1988 he guided the firm from less than one million dollars in sales to almost $6 million in sales & succeeded Superior’s original owner in 2001.
A lifelong Yankees fan, Ray also enjoys the ponies as well as weekend picnics during the beautiful summers in Upstate New York.

Ray currently resides in Saratoga Springs with his wife of over 35 years and has 2 sons who call the Capital Region home and have careers in ecommerce and banking.
